THE LAB Jewellers is a UK jewellery brand built around a single idea: that genuinely beautiful jewellery shouldn't require a compromise on ethics, transparency, or price.

We work exclusively with lab-grown diamonds set into solid precious metals. The result is jewellery that looks, feels, and behaves like the finest traditional pieces — without the markup, the opaque supply chains, or the mining that traditional stones require.

Why lab-grown

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. The only difference is origin: ours are grown in controlled laboratory conditions using either High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) techniques. They can be certified by the same independent gemological laboratories — IGI and GIA — against the same grading standards.

The benefit: significantly lower price for equivalent specification, a fully traceable supply chain, and no new diamond mining. That allows us to offer larger stones, finer settings, and more design freedom for the same budget.

How we work

Most pieces on the site are made to order. When you place an enquiry or order, your piece is produced specifically for you in your chosen metal and diamond specification. Nothing sits in a warehouse, and nothing is mass-produced overseas.

We work directly with manufacturing partners we trust, which is how we can offer custom commissions, bespoke sizing, and made-to-order pieces without the markup of a traditional retail chain.

Materials

We work only in solid precious metals — never plated, gold-filled, or vermeil passed off as solid gold. And our gold starts at 14kt, never 9ct: 58.5% pure gold against the high street's 37.5% — over half more pure gold in every piece, for richer colour and longer wear. The hallmark proves it: qualifying gold pieces are independently assayed in London and struck 585, where high-street 9ct carries 375.

Choose solid 925 sterling silver — our accessible entry point — or solid 14kt and 18kt gold in white, yellow, or rose. Where UK law requires it, your piece is fully hallmarked at a UK assay office, and we can arrange independent IGI or GIA certification on the diamond — every specification confirmed in writing before anything is made.

Pricing

Our prices are shown upfront. The figure on each piece is the real price for that design in the metal and specification listed — no “enquire for pricing,” no surprises at checkout. Lab-grown diamonds let us offer the same size and quality as a traditional jeweller for a fraction of the cost, and we’d rather show that plainly than hide it behind a quote form.

As a rule of thumb, for the same lab-grown diamond specification we aim to come in between 15% and 40% below comparable high-street and mainstream online jewellers — typically around 20–30%. Because lab-grown stones cost a fraction of mined ones and we sell direct and made to order, we pass that saving on as a lower everyday price, not a limited-time “sale.”
